Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub Establishes Five-Year Agreement With Afghanistan Cricket Board For Training Camps
Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub (ADCSH), supported by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), has entered a five-year agreement with the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB). This partnership, covering 2025-2029, designates Abu Dhabi as the exclusive UAE venue for ACB's training camps and international matches at junior levels. This reinforces ADCSH's status as a premier national sports hub.
The collaboration aims to enhance Afghanistan's cricket scene by providing a platform for emerging talents. It also supports ACB in global operations and player development. The agreement was formalised today by Matt Boucher, CEO of ADSCH, and Naseeb Khan, ACB CEO, with Aref Al Awani, General Secretary of ADSC, present.

The partnership will facilitate ACB's global activities and improve pathways for player growth. This initiative follows discussions among ACB, ADSC, and ADCSH to boost cricket opportunities for Afghan players worldwide. The collaboration is expected to diversify and strengthen Afghanistan's national game significantly.
ACB will continue collaborating with the Emirates Cricket Board to use various UAE venues for senior men's bilateral matches. This ongoing cooperation ensures that Afghanistan's cricket team can access multiple facilities across the UAE for their games.
Aref Al Awani expressed pride in the agreement between ADCSH and ACB. He highlighted its pioneering role in supporting Afghanistan's cricket ecosystem growth. "We are proud to announce the signing of the agreement between Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub and Afghanistan Cricket Board," he stated.
Al Awani also emphasised Abu Dhabi's commitment to hosting global tournaments, programs, and training camps. The city's extensive infrastructure ensures these events' success, further solidifying its position as a key location for international cricket activities.
This strategic move underscores both parties' dedication to expanding cricket opportunities on a global scale. By fostering such partnerships, they aim to elevate the sport in Afghanistan while leveraging Abu Dhabi's world-class facilities.
