Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority Endorses Global Industrial Safety Manifesto To Enhance Standards
The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (ADCDA) has become the first global entity to endorse the Manifesto for Global Industrial Safety. This initiative sets a new standard for safety, aiming to protect lives and property. The announcement was made at the 2024 Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS2024), part of Abu Dhabi Business Week. ADCDA signed three strategic partnerships, highlighting its commitment to using modern technology for safety and efficiency.
During GMIS2024, ADCDA partnered with the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). This collaboration supports the Global Initiative for Industrial Safety (GIFIS) and aims to promote the Manifesto's adoption worldwide. The partnership focuses on increasing investment, integrating advanced technologies, and developing resilient industrial systems.

ADCDA also joined forces with the Global MICE Organisation Limited (GMOLx) to host an international conference on industrial safety in Abu Dhabi. This event will serve as a platform for industry leaders and policymakers to discuss innovative solutions for global safety challenges, aiming for sustainability in the industrial sector.
In another significant move, ADCDA signed an agreement with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and Ambipar. This partnership aims to boost emergency response capabilities in industrial facilities by adopting advanced technologies like drones for inspections. It also establishes a framework for integrating cutting-edge technologies into Abu Dhabi's emergency response sector.
These agreements highlight Abu Dhabi's role as a hub for industrial innovation. They reflect ADCDA’s dedication to achieving high global safety standards through innovation, aligning with its mission to protect lives, property, and enhance industrial sustainability.
Brigadier General Salem Abdullah bin Barak Al Dhaheri, Acting Director General of ADCDA, stated: "These partnerships represent a qualitative leap in the authority's efforts to position Abu Dhabi as a global centre for industrial safety. The signing of the Industrial Safety Charter and the strategic partnerships we have launched reflect our steadfast commitment to protecting lives and property, enhancing industrial sustainability, and leveraging innovation to achieve the highest global safety standards. We are dedicated to collaborating with our local and international partners to achieve a shared vision for a safer and more sustainable future."
Namir Hourani, Managing Director of GMIS, added: "By joining forces with the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, it is not only setting a new benchmark for safety frameworks but also accelerating the global adoption of the Manifesto for Global Industrial Safety. Technologies that enhance safety procedures are crucial to protecting both assets and the workforce and accelerating their adoption is essential to ensure sustainable growth. This collaboration is a testament to the power of cross-sector partnerships to build industrial ecosystems that prioritise saving lives, safeguarding operations, and driving meaningful progress for industries across the world."
Abu Dhabi's initiatives underscore its leadership in developing innovative solutions in industrial safety. These efforts strengthen its status as a leading destination in this sector while supporting aspirations for a safe and sustainable industrial environment locally and globally.
