Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority And Core42 Unveil Smart Fire Safety Solution

In an effort to boost fire and life safety standards, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has teamed up with Core42, a subsidiary of G42, known for its expertise in sovereign cloud, AI infrastructure, and digital services, to introduce a sophisticated digital portal.

This portal is designed to allow the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, along with building proprietors and maintenance firms, to register, manage, and keep fire and life safety standards up to date in real-time.

New Digital Fire Safety Solution in Abu Dhabi

This innovation, part of the Hassantuk program and crafted by Core42, significantly improves the safety of Abu Dhabi's residents by reducing property damage and enhancing the speed of emergency responses. It also increases the operational efficiency of maintenance companies and building owners by enabling them to better monitor their compliance with safety standards across the Emirate.

The Hassantuk program, initiated in 2018 by the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, mandated the installation of fire detection devices and connections to the civil defence e-system in residential and public buildings. The newly unveiled digital portal, a creation of Core42 within this program's framework, is aimed at raising fire and life safety standards by linking properties directly to a command center. This command center is promptly alerted in the event of a fire, allowing for quick verification and response to fire emergencies.

The platform's introduction marks a significant step forward in ensuring safer communities by providing critical real-time insights into fire and life safety performance. It helps operators to pinpoint buildings not complying with safety standards, oversee maintenance companies' performance, and ensure transparency in the adherence to maintenance contracts.

The platform's features, including real-time fault reporting, automated updates, and preventive maintenance tracking, foster transparent communication between building owners, maintenance entities, and the Civil Defence. This facilitates prompt actions to avert safety breaches, ensuring a higher level of safety for everyone involved.

Colonel Dr. Engineer Faisal Hassan Al-Qahtani, the Acting Director of the Civil Protection Department, highlighted the success of the Hassantuk program, noting, "The Hassantuk program has registered over 35,000 buildings in Abu Dhabi, significantly mitigating fire and life risks. With the new smart solution, we can now access real-time data, detect false alarms, and proactively monitor property maintenance, further enhancing safety in a controlled manner. This underscores Abu Dhabi's commitment to leading in digital solutions that improve the well-being of its residents."

Yousef Al Harmoodi, Chief Business Development Officer at Core42 and General Manager at Hassantuk, expressed pride in delivering this cutting-edge digital solution to the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, stating, "We are proud to deliver this state-of-the-art digital solution to the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority and help advance fire and life safety standards in the Emirate."

Al Harmoodi further elaborated on Core42's dedication to supporting the UAE's digital ambitions through this portal and command center. The initiative aims to empower the Civil Defence team to monitor compliance, ensure service-level agreements are met, and track maintenance activities in real-time. This collaboration epitomizes Core42's commitment to propelling the nation's vision and establishing Abu Dhabi as a global frontrunner in smart city initiatives.
