Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority Launches Back-to-School Campaign To Enhance Safety And Preparedness

The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (ADCDA) has initiated a campaign titled "Our Students, Our Future" to coincide with the 2025/2026 school year. This effort aims to ensure a secure and sustainable learning environment, safeguarding lives and property while promoting safety awareness within schools.

The campaign adopts a comprehensive awareness strategy aimed at students, parents, teachers, administrative staff, bus supervisors, drivers, and the broader community. It seeks to improve readiness for emergencies by following international public safety standards. The focus is on instilling a safety culture among students, parents, and staff; increasing awareness of preventive measures in schools and buses to reduce risks; and empowering the school community to handle emergencies effectively.

ADCDA's initiative also encourages safe behaviours through educational materials tailored for different age groups. It uses media outlets, ADCDA’s digital platforms, and social media to spread impactful messages widely. Topics include evacuation training at schools and homes, the importance of smoke detectors in saving lives, safe use of electrical devices, fire prevention measures, avoiding exposed wires, understanding fireworks dangers, and promoting safe alternatives.

This initiative targets all school students from kindergarten to secondary levels. It also involves parents, teaching and administrative staff, local communities, support staff, as well as school bus supervisors and drivers. ADCDA emphasised that this initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to protect lives and property while supporting a safe educational environment.

The campaign's core objectives include enhancing safety culture among students and staff while raising awareness about preventive measures in schools and buses. By doing so, it aims to minimise potential risks and empower the school community to respond effectively during emergencies.
