Abu Dhabi Chamber Unveils 'Gateway To The World' To Foster Global Business Partnerships
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has introduced a new strategic initiative called "Gateway to the World." This initiative aims to expand its global network, creating opportunities for local businesses to grow internationally and attract more foreign direct investments (FDIs). The Chamber plans to sign 100 partnerships with various chambers and business support offices worldwide by the end of 2024.
The initiative will enable Abu Dhabi businesses to access over 3 million international companies registered in chambers of commerce and business support offices globally. By establishing direct communication channels with these entities, the Chamber aims to foster a competitive economic environment that aligns with the aspirations of Abu Dhabi's business community. Additionally, it seeks to attract international companies to set up operations in Abu Dhabi.

Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, stated, "This new initiative demonstrates our ongoing commitment to boosting the competitiveness of Abu Dhabi’s business community while pushing towards more economic development. By solidifying relationships between local and global business ecosystems, we aim to further attract more FDIs into Abu Dhabi’s economy and empower businesses to expand their operations globally and explore new markets."
The "Gateway to the World" initiative covers a broad geographical scope, including Asia, Europe, Australia, Africa, Latin America, as well as the Middle East and GCC countries. These partnerships will be registered within the Abu Dhabi Business Connect platform. This will enable businesses to connect globally with merchants, entrepreneurs, and investors worldwide.
Al Qubaisi added that these strategic partnerships are crucial for the prosperity of Abu Dhabi’s business ecosystem. He emphasised the need to stimulate investments and facilitate the transfer of technology, services, and expertise between Abu Dhabi and other regions. This aligns with the Chamber’s mission to provide a competitive business environment that fosters innovation and attracts talent.
Empowering Local Businesses
The initiative will significantly bolster the Abu Dhabi Business Connect platform by granting access to over 3 million member companies from world chambers of commerce and business support offices. This will empower companies in Abu Dhabi to expand their reach by engaging with international companies and global markets.
The platform will also provide startups and SMEs in Abu Dhabi an opportunity to present their projects to international investors. It will help them enter new partnerships while leveraging investment and commercial potential in Abu Dhabi.
Digital Engagement
The "Gateway to the World" initiative will promote the Chamber's digital platform on Tawasal SuperApp. This platform facilitates interaction between Abu Dhabi Chamber members and international companies registered with chambers of commerce worldwide. It enables virtual business meetings for exploring partnership opportunities both locally and internationally.
Developed in partnership with Tawasal Information Technology, this digital platform ensures that the business community remains updated on events and initiatives benefiting the private sector in Abu Dhabi.
This strategic move aligns with the Chamber's vision of making Abu Dhabi a preferred destination for business and talent in the MENA region by 2025. The initiative aims at enhancing economic growth by fostering collaboration within local and global business ecosystems.
