Crown Princes Of Abu Dhabi And Bahrain Witness Signing Of Strategic Partnership Agreement For McLaren Acquisition
A strategic partnership agreement has been signed between CYVN Holdings LLC, based in Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company BSC(c), the sovereign wealth fund of Bahrain. This deal was witnessed by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain.
CYVN Holdings will acquire McLaren's automotive business and a non-controlling stake in its racing division. The completion of this transaction is subject to standard closing conditions and regulatory approvals. This acquisition follows an earlier announcement about a potential partnership between Mumtalakat and CYVN Holdings made in October.
Jassem Mohammed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of CYVN Holdings, expressed that this acquisition is crucial for CYVN's vision to establish a globally connected mobility platform. He highlighted Abu Dhabi's growing role as a hub for innovation in advanced mobility. "By combining McLaren’s iconic heritage and expertise with CYVN’s advanced engineering and technology capabilities, we aim to redefine high-performance mobility and set a new benchmark for excellence," he stated.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Bahraini Minister of Finance and National Economy and Chairman of Mumtalakat's Board of Directors, remarked on the significance of this agreement for Mumtalakat's strategic vision. He noted that the recent reorganization within McLaren Group has opened new strategic avenues. "We are confident in CYVN's ability to build on McLaren’s strong legacy and unlock its full potential," he added.
