Abu Dhabi Awards Launches 12th Edition To Celebrate Selfless Contributions In UAE Community
The Abu Dhabi Awards, under the patronage of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has launched its 12th edition. This edition coincides with the UAE's Year of Community and celebrates 20 years since the awards began in 2005. It invites citizens, residents, and non-residents to nominate individuals whose selfless acts have benefited the UAE community.
Since its inception, the Abu Dhabi Awards has recognised 100 recipients from 18 nationalities for their contributions in various fields. These include community service, sustainability, healthcare, volunteerism, scientific contributions, cultural preservation, environmental protection, and support for People of Determination. Contributions of any kind are eligible for nomination.

This year marks two decades of honouring individuals who have made significant impacts in the UAE community. The awards celebrate those who contribute without seeking recognition or reward. "Each nomination for the Abu Dhabi Awards celebrates the values of selflessness and dedication that we hold dear within our community," said Mahra Al Shamsi from the organising committee.
Nominations are now open and accessible through the Abu Dhabi Awards digital platform. Individuals across the UAE are encouraged to nominate inspirational people who have made meaningful contributions to society. A single nomination is sufficient for consideration for this prestigious award.
This edition introduces 'Goodness in Motion,' a mobile outreach initiative that brings the awards' mission to malls, schools, and construction sites. The campaign includes giveaways and activities for children and families to encourage public participation in recognising unsung heroes who make a difference in society.
The organising committee will also host workshops and roadshows nationwide to raise awareness about the awards' values and importance. Talks will be held across various institutions to promote appreciation and giving within the community.
Inspiring Future Generations
The ongoing efforts of past recipients demonstrate that even small acts of kindness can inspire others to serve their communities actively. The awards align with the UAE's declaration of 2025 as the Year of Community under "Hand in Hand," promoting goodness and giving values.
"This edition marks 20 years of honouring individuals whose generous contributions have significantly impacted the UAE community," added Mahra Al Shamsi. "We invite everyone across the nation to participate by nominating those selfless people whose acts of goodness have the power to inspire others."
The Abu Dhabi Awards continue to embody their mission by recognising individuals dedicated to helping others without expecting recognition. This milestone edition encourages nominations that could spark a legacy of giving for future generations.
