Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week Opens With H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohamed Highlighting Smart Mobility Innovations
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs and Chairman of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC), attended the opening of Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week. This event, organised by SASC, runs from 10-15 November and aims to showcase advancements in autonomous technologies.
The week commenced with the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Summit, where H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was joined by H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The summit gathered global leaders and experts in smart mobility to discuss the latest developments in autonomous technology. Key topics included artificial intelligence, robotics applications, and emerging trends shaping future mobility.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan highlighted Abu Dhabi's commitment to advancing the smart mobility sector. He noted that this sector is crucial for economic diversification and sustainable development. By investing strategically in smart infrastructure and national talent, Abu Dhabi aims to build a knowledge-based economy prioritising community wellbeing and quality of life.
The summit featured 13 panel discussions with over 30 speakers, including policymakers, industry experts, and innovators. These sessions focused on translating strategic visions into practical solutions to enhance the operational efficiency of the global autonomous mobility ecosystem and its smart infrastructure.
During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan toured various national and international company pavilions at DRIFTx, part of Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), this exhibition brings together innovators, investors, regulators, and policymakers worldwide to explore smart mobility developments.
At DRIFTx, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan reviewed advanced technological solutions showcased by global leaders in autonomous transport and logistics. The exhibition included live demonstrations of ground-based autonomous systems, intelligent marine freight solutions, and drone technologies transforming logistics operations and supply chain efficiency.
