Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre And MBRF Sign MoU To Enhance Cultural Engagement And Support Youth Development

The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) have entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership aims to boost collaboration in cultural and intellectual fields, particularly focusing on engaging youth in cultural activities.

As part of the MoU, MBRF will provide ALC members with specialised training programmes. These are developed in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to enhance skills. Additionally, the collaboration will advance translation efforts. Talented Emirati graduates from MBRF’s Translation Programme will contribute to ALC’s Kalima Translation Project.

The agreement also involves nominating exceptional participants from MBRF’s creative content development programmes for ALC's literary awards and research grants. This aims to support Arabic creativity. Furthermore, both organisations will work together on print and digital publishing, ensuring high-quality standards at competitive prices.

Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of ALC, highlighted that this partnership is a significant step towards youth development. It provides opportunities for skill enhancement in cultural and creative areas. "This collaboration represents a step forward in the promotion of culture and knowledge in the UAE and across the Arab world," he noted.

Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, expressed that empowering individuals is crucial for human development. "Our strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre is a significant step towards these objectives," he said. The collaboration focuses on developing Emirati resources and supporting digital and print Arabic content.

Expanding Cultural Initiatives

The MoU allows ALC to present its programmes at various MBRF events. Similarly, MBRF will showcase its initiatives at ALC's cultural events like book fairs and festivals. The agreement supports enriching Arabic content on MBRF’s Digital Knowledge Hub platform by leveraging insights from ALC.

Moreover, a joint initiative titled ‘Knowledge Break’ will feature talks hosted by Abu Dhabi during Foundation events. The agreement also strengthens cooperation between Bel Arabi and Youth Knowledge Forum initiatives to empower Emirati and Arab youth through collaborative programmes.

Jamal bin Huwaireb further explained that this partnership reflects a shared commitment to establishing Arabic as a tool for communication. "It allows for expanding the impact of initiatives such as 'Bil Arabi' and the Digital Knowledge Centre," he stated.

This strategic alliance between ALC and MBRF marks an important milestone in promoting culture and knowledge across the UAE and beyond. It aims to enrich the cultural landscape while inspiring creativity among young talents passionate about Arabic literature, arts, and sciences.
