Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre Showcases 450 Titles At Jeddah International Book Fair 2024
The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) is actively participating in the Jeddah International Book Fair 2024. This event, organised by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission alongside the Saudi Ministry of Culture, runs until 21st December. The ALC is presenting 450 titles from its diverse publications and projects.
Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of ALC, stressed the Centre's dedication to enhancing the Arabic language's influence in science, art, and civilisation. He noted successful collaborations with cultural bodies, especially in Saudi Arabia, to boost publishing and knowledge sectors. "The Jeddah International Book Fair is a key event for connecting writers and thinkers," he stated.

The ALC is also promoting its initiatives such as the Kalima Project for Translation. This project supports translation activities across the Arab world to bolster Abu Dhabi's cultural movement and enhance both regional and international cultural landscapes. The Centre aims to enrich Arab culture and promote Arab identity through these efforts.
Among other highlighted initiatives are the Esdarat initiative, which compiles a comprehensive catalogue of works published over five decades, and the Basaer (Insights) series of research papers and studies. Additionally, their Research Grants programme is being showcased at the fair.
The Jeddah International Book Fair serves as an annual cultural gathering in Saudi Arabia that attracts writers, publishers, and readers globally. It showcases contemporary literary works while hosting various cultural activities. Over 400 local, Arab, and international publishing houses are participating this year.
The ALC's involvement underscores its mission to disseminate knowledge and promote Arabic language use. The fair offers a platform for showcasing cultural projects aimed at building relationships with stakeholders in Arab and global publishing sectors. It also helps reach Arab readers worldwide through various knowledge platforms.
This participation highlights the Centre's commitment to advancing its projects that contribute significantly to spreading knowledge about Arab culture globally. By engaging with diverse audiences at such events, the ALC continues to foster appreciation for Arabic literature and culture.
