Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre Showcases Over 600 Titles At The 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair
The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) is taking part in the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair. This event, organised by the Sharjah Book Authority, will be held at Expo Centre Sharjah from 6 to 17 November 2024. The fair operates under the theme ‘It Starts With a Book’ and aims to promote reading culture.
At its pavilion, the ALC will showcase 65 new titles. These are part of a larger collection of 600 titles from the ALC’s Kalima Project for Translation, Esdarat project, and Basaer (Insights) series. These initiatives focus on research papers and studies to enrich Arabic literature.

Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the ALC, highlighted the importance of participating in such events. He stated, "Participating in the Sharjah International Book Fair reflects the significant integration of efforts seen across various sectors in the UAE, with the aim of promoting a culture of reading, providing diverse content to the public, and advancing the Arabic language and its civilisational message in society."
He also commended the fair's organisation level, noting that it "continues to improve every year, reinforcing the UAE’s cultural mission and enhancing its global leadership in the publishing sector." This reflects a broader commitment to cultural development within the UAE.
The ALC is committed to engaging with international audiences through these fairs. Dr. bin Tamim added that "Book fairs in the UAE bring significant attention from the global cultural community for their pioneering advancements, efficiency, and cultural diversity." This success is attributed to support from UAE leadership.
The Centre aims to participate in all cultural events to showcase its publications. This strategy helps expand their reach while offering diverse options to readers. The goal is to highlight Emirati contributions and local publishers on an international stage.
