Global Experts To Converge For Abu Dhabi's Agriculture And Food Security Week In November 2024

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the third edition of Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Security Week (ADAFSW) will be held from 26th to 28th November 2024 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This event will see significant international participation from policymakers and leading global companies in the sector.

Saeed Al Bahri Salem Al Ameri, Director General of ADAFSA, highlighted that ADAFSW 2024 reflects Sheikh Mansour's dedication to enhancing food security locally and globally. He stated, "ADAFSW 2024 embodies Abu Dhabi's unwavering commitment to enhancing global food security. It will solidify the emirate's position as a leading global centre for innovation in agriculture and food security, attract foreign investment to the sector, and open up new horizons for international trade."

The Global Food Security Summit, a key event during ADAFSW, will convene senior government officials, policymakers, and experts to discuss challenges in the sector. This summit aims to position Abu Dhabi as a hub for decision-making in global food security.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, reiterated their commitment to supporting national efforts in advancing agriculture and food security. He noted that ADNEC’s support is rooted in the leadership’s vision for long-term food security and Abu Dhabi’s role as an innovation capital.

Organised by ADNEC Group with ADAFSA and FBMG as Knowledge Partner, ADAFSW will feature specialised exhibitions like ADIFE 2024 and ADDPE 2024. The inaugural Global Food Security Summit is also part of this lineup. These events aim to showcase cutting-edge technologies in agriculture and food production.

Saleh Lootah, Chairman of FBMG, expressed pride in partnering with ADAFSA and ADNEC for the Global Food Security Summit. He mentioned that this summit would include various themes and sessions attracting officials and experts worldwide to address key challenges in the sector.

Highlighting Date Production

Dr. Abdul Wahab Zayed emphasised ADDPE's role in highlighting dates' importance in national economies. The tenth edition of ADDPE will host over 100 pavilions from 25 date-producing countries. This exhibition serves as a networking platform for date suppliers globally.

The week's activities will also feature new events showcasing global technologies in agriculture. These events are expected to announce numerous contracts, deals, and partnerships between government institutions and private entities.

Commitment to Sustainable Development

Saeed Al Bahri Salem Al Ameri invited all stakeholders to attend ADAFSW events to benefit from opportunities it offers towards sustainable development goals. He stressed that these gatherings would help advance both present and future aspects of this vital sector.

The agenda includes leading global exhibitions such as ADIFE 2024 and ADDPE 2024 alongside the Global Food Security Summit. These combined events aim to align with national programmes ensuring food abundance through innovative applications enhancing sustainable production.

Al Dhaheri added that ADIFE's third edition is experiencing record growth compared to previous editions. This growth underscores the increasing importance placed on agricultural innovation within Abu Dhabi’s strategic vision.

The event is expected to facilitate numerous bilateral meetings between buyers and sellers within supply chains during its course.
