Abdullah Bin Zayed Engages With Israel's Foreign Minister On Peace And Humanitarian Issues

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, recently met with Gideon Sa'ar, Israel's Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Abu Dhabi. They discussed the relationship between their countries and addressed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The conversation also focused on regional and international efforts to achieve a lasting ceasefire.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the urgent need for a serious political dialogue to resume negotiations aimed at comprehensive peace through a two-state solution. He stated that this approach would help establish stability and sustainable security in the region while ending escalating violence.

The UAE minister stressed the importance of collective international efforts to address extremism and tension in the Middle East. He highlighted that achieving peace, prosperity, and development is crucial for the region's people. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah called for intensified efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire and prevent further conflict expansion.

He noted that protecting civilian lives and ensuring the flow of urgent humanitarian aid are top priorities. The UAE supports mediation efforts by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States to broker a prisoner exchange agreement. This could lead to a permanent ceasefire, release hostages, and ensure safe delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza civilians.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE's unwavering commitment to supporting Palestinians' right to self-determination. He highlighted the nation's longstanding solidarity with Palestinians over decades. The UAE will continue its humanitarian initiatives to assist its Palestinian brothers.

The minister also urged increased international efforts against extremism, hatred, and racism while promoting tolerance, coexistence, and human fraternity among nations. Building peace in the region is essential for lasting stability and fulfilling aspirations for comprehensive development.

The meeting was attended by several key figures: Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs; and Mohamed Mahmoud Al Khaja, UAE Ambassador to Israel.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah reiterated that ending tension and violence is crucial for regional stability. He emphasised that collective international efforts are needed to combat extremism while fostering peace and prosperity for all people in the Middle East.
