Abdullah Bin Zayed Meets Foreign Ministers To Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation At UNGA80
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in separate discussions with various foreign ministers during the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) in New York. These meetings focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
The discussions with Ayman Safadi from Jordan, Juraj Blanár from Slovakia, Péter Szijjártó from Hungary, Lars Løkke Rasmussen from Denmark, George Gerapetritis from Greece, Radosław Sikorski from Poland, and Maria Theresa Lazaro from the Philippines aimed to strengthen partnerships. Key areas included economy, trade, investment, culture, education, health, agriculture, technology, artificial intelligence, food security, renewable energy and climate.

During these meetings, topics on the UN General Assembly agenda were also addressed. The emphasis was on multilateral work and collaboration within international organisations. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to fostering constructive cooperation with friendly nations globally and advancing multilateral efforts for sustainable development.
In addition to bilateral talks with foreign ministers, Sheikh Abdullah met Dr. Comfort Ero of the International Crisis Group. They discussed strategies for enhancing humanitarian responses worldwide through the group's programmes.
Sheikh Abdullah also held discussions with Dr. Mirjana Spoljaric of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Their conversation focused on cooperation between the UAE and ICRC in humanitarian and relief efforts. They also discussed supporting civilians affected in various regions globally.
The meetings were attended by several UAE officials including Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Omran Sharaf, Abdulla Balalaa and Ambassador Mohamed Abushahab.
The exchange of views among Sheikh Abdullah and other ministers extended to regional and international developments. This dialogue underscored a shared interest in addressing global challenges through cooperative efforts.
The UAE continues to prioritise building strong relationships with nations worldwide to support mutual growth and address pressing global issues effectively.
