Abdullah Bin Zayed Chairs Meeting Of Education Council, Follows Up On Efforts To Boost Education Quality
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Education and Human Resources Council, chaired a virtual meeting of the council. The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation (SHF) and Vice Chairperson of the Education and Human Resources Council.
The primary aim of the meeting was to follow up on ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education, boost the UAE’s competitiveness, and establish it as a hub for academic excellence. Sheikh Abdullah began by congratulating students, graduates, teaching staff, and parents on the approaching end of the school year and wished students success in their final exams.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed gratitude to teachers and families for their crucial role in encouraging students to strive towards academic excellence. He emphasised the importance of collaboration among all parties to strengthen the education system and address challenges faced by students.
He highlighted that identifying students' capabilities, interests, and inclinations makes it easier for them to choose academic and professional paths that align with their ambitions and meet the UAE’s sectoral requirements. Sheikh Abdullah also praised efforts to establish new systems for classifying higher education institutions, aiding students in making informed choices when selecting universities.
"University classification is a major stride towards boosting transparency, enhancing the country's competitiveness, and highlighting it as a global destination for pursuing higher education," Sheikh Abdullah said. He added that this initiative attracts top students from both the UAE and abroad, as well as distinguished educational professionals from around the world.
H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated students, graduates, parents, teachers, and school leaders on completing another academic year. She acknowledged the dedication and efforts made by everyone in the education sector throughout the year.
Sheikha Mariam encouraged reflection on progress made since the fall and consideration of future growth. "While we often celebrate our achievements at this time of year, let's not forget that progress and growth are just as important," she said. She expressed inspiration from the hard work observed among students and celebrated collective progress towards ambitions.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education; Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Community Development; Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation; Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology and Chairwoman of the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE); Sara Musallam, Minister of State for Early Education; Hajer AlThehli, Secretary-General of the Education and Human Resources Council; Aisha Miran, Director-General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai; and Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority.
Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi discussed the results of the university classification process under the UAE's national framework for classifying higher education institutions. This framework is based on clear standards and transparency aimed at boosting competitiveness, quality, and results in higher education.
Sarah Al Amiri presented a study on varying models of public schools launched to offer a wider array of advanced options across the UAE's educational system. She noted that ESE conducts periodic efficiency tests on operational results to ensure continued development, enhance student life quality, and provide more advanced school services.
