Abdullah Bin Zayed Chairs Second Meeting Of BRICS Steering Committee To Enhance UAE Participation

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, led the second BRICS Steering Committee meeting. This virtual gathering included several UAE ministers and officials. The focus was on reviewing the UAE's involvement with the BRICS group and exploring ways to enhance this engagement through improved coordination among relevant entities in the country.

The meeting featured a presentation by Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE BRICS Sherpa. He highlighted the UAE's active participation in the group, noting that entities have been involved in approximately 150 meetings and over 25 ministerial meetings. Presentations from other UAE ministers and senior officials also provided insights into the country's priorities and progress during its first year as a BRICS member.

The meeting was attended by prominent figures such as Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy; Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation; Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice; Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, Minister of Culture; Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade; Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of CBUAE; Humaid Obaid Abu Shabas, Chairman of the UAE Accountability Authority; Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Adviser to the UAE President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs; Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs.
