Abdullah Bin Zayed Chairs First Meeting Of 2025 Education, Human Resources And Community Development Council

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, led the Education, Human Resources and Community Development Council's first 2025 meeting in Abu Dhabi. H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-Chairperson of the Council, attended the session. Discussions focused on future priorities and strategic directions for various ministries.

The council's agenda included updates from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and plans from the Ministry of Community Empowerment and Ministry of Family. Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the council's role in shaping unified policies for education and human development aligned with UAE leadership's vision.

First Meeting of 2025 Education Council Led by Abdullah bin Zayed

Sheikh Abdullah praised efforts to set priorities for upcoming phases, stressing collaboration with partners to implement strategies. He emphasised building high-performing teams capable of strategic thinking, innovation, accountability, effective communication, and continuous learning. "Education is the driving force behind development," he stated.

Sheikha Mariam noted that the council is progressing towards its goals under leadership guidance. She stressed human-centred strategies that enhance skills and promote lifelong learning. "The Council begins the new year with more ambition," she added, focusing on developing Emirati community skills and creativity.

Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Empowerment; Sarah bint Youssef Al Amiri, Minister of Education; Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Acting Minister of Higher Education; Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family; Jassem Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of Finance - Abu Dhabi; Hajer Ahmed Althehli, Secretary-General were present at the meeting.

Althehli reviewed updates on enhancing governance between education and community development sectors. She highlighted efforts to increase productivity by reducing bureaucracy and improving cooperation among government and private entities.

Focus on Education

Al Amiri detailed ongoing reviews during the ministry's transitional phase. Priorities include updating plans under four pillars: curriculum development, assessment paths, professional growth for educators, school process empowerment, and supervision enhancement to bridge academic gaps.

Dr. Al Awar shared updates on higher education reforms within the new structure. The ministry launched 16 projects focusing on empowering universities and supporting students while reviewing policies related to higher education.

Community Empowerment Initiatives

Al Mazrui outlined priorities for empowering individuals to contribute to society's growth by activating the third sector and promoting shared responsibility values. Sana bint Mohammed Suhail discussed establishing her ministry's strategy with a focus on family formation encouragement.

Suhail emphasised working closely with partners to develop strategies that support People of Determination while improving beneficiary experiences through innovative policies related to family frameworks.

The council aims to align educational systems with individual development while empowering communities through comprehensive national systems focusing on human capital development across all life stages in UAE society.
