Abdullah Bin Zayed Participates In Aqaba Ministerial Meetings To Discuss Syria's Stability And Unity
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, took part in the Aqaba Ministerial Meetings on Syria. These meetings began in Aqaba, Jordan. Sheikh Abdullah also attended the Arab Ministerial Liaison Committee meeting on Syria. The UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and other committee members were invited to this gathering.
The meeting was attended by several key figures. H.H. Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah from Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani from Qatar, Ayman Safadi from Jordan, Fuad Hussein from Iraq, Abdullah Bou Habib from Lebanon, and Dr. Badr Abdel Aty from Egypt were present. Additionally, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani from Bahrain and Ahmed Aboul Gheit of the Arab League participated.

The discussions centred on developments in Syria and enhancing Arab efforts to support its unity and sovereignty. The aim was to ensure the security and stability of the Syrian people. The meeting was held at Jordan's invitation to address these critical issues.
During the session, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE's dedication to Syria’s security and unity. He emphasised the importance of a collective approach involving Arab, regional, and international efforts for a political resolution in Syria. This aligns with UN Security Council Resolution 2254 and aims to fulfil Syrians' aspirations for development and dignity.
Sheikh Abdullah expressed his gratitude to Jordan for hosting this significant meeting. He noted that it demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting Syria and standing by its people during challenging times.
A closing statement was released by the Arab Ministerial Liaison Committee on Syria at the end of the meeting. This statement included representatives from the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and other committee members.
