Aaron Rai Crowned Champion Of Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship 2025 At Yas Links
H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, awarded English golfer Aaron Rai the title of champion at the 20th Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship 2025. The event took place at Yas Links on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, drawing a large audience and featuring intense competition among top global golfers.
The tournament, part of the Rolex Series and DP World Tour Finals, spanned four days and included 72 elite players. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and DP World, it showcased high-level golfing talent. Aaron Rai secured his first Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship win and second Rolex Series title after finishing 26 under par. He triumphed in a playoff against Tommy Fleetwood, who ended at 25 under par.

Denmark’s Nicolai Højgaard and Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy tied for third place, each finishing at 24 under par. This result brought McIlroy closer to clinching the DP World Tour title this season. The final day was marked by an electric atmosphere, especially during the decisive moments on the 18th hole where the championship was decided.

Prize Distribution Details
The total prize fund for this championship was approximately USD 9 million. The winner received USD 1.52 million along with 1,500 points; the runner-up earned USD 980,000 with 1,000 points; while third place secured USD 560,000 and 565 points.
The event also saw significant public engagement over its four-day duration with many spectators attending in person and millions more watching globally on television. This turnout highlights growing interest in golf within Abu Dhabi and beyond.
H.H. Sheikh Nahyan emphasised that since its inception through two decades of continuous editions, this championship has significantly contributed to tourism growth by drawing thousands from various countries annually.
The presence of notable figures like Major General (Ret.) Abdullah Al Hashemi from UAE Golf Federation further underscored its importance alongside other dignitaries such as Abdulfattah Sharaf from HSBC Middle East.
