MBRSC Hosts 43rd ISGP Meeting In Dubai, Marks Space Exploration Milestone
The 43rd Annual International Society for Gravitational Physiology (ISGP) Meeting, hosted by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), has officially commenced at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU). This marks the first time the event is held in the Arab world.
The opening ceremony featured notable figures such as Salem Humaid AlMarri, Director-General of MBRSC; Dr. Amer Ahmad Sharif, CEO of Dubai Academic Health Corporation and President of MBRU; Prof. Marc-Antoine Custaud, President of ISGP; and Hazzaa AlMansoori, Astronauts Office Manager at MBRSC. Other dignitaries and attendees were also present.

Salem AlMarri welcomed attendees to Dubai and highlighted their shared enthusiasm for space exploration. He emphasised that the knowledge and experience gained through the Centre's efforts would advance scientific progress and humanity's understanding of space.
Prof. Marc-Antoine Custaud noted that the meeting holds much promise, featuring more than 100 scientific presentations. He stressed that the event would foster cooperation among various entities involved in space research.
Astronaut Hazzaa AlMansoori underscored the role of space missions in enhancing international cooperation and understanding of the universe. He drew on his experience during the first Emirati mission to the International Space Station to illustrate these points.
The event, running until 30th May, brings together eminent scientists, representatives from space agencies, young researchers, and students. The aim is to exchange knowledge on the biological and physiological effects of gravity on living organisms.
These studies are crucial for overcoming challenges associated with long-duration space missions and enhancing our understanding of life beyond Earth. The meeting will also serve as a collaborative platform to announce new research and educational opportunities in this field.
