26th Islamic Arts Festival To Feature 'Siraj' Theme Under Patronage Of Sheikh Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi
The Islamic Arts Festival's Supreme Committee has chosen "Siraj" (lamp) as the theme for its 26th edition in November. This event is under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The slogan embodies His Highness's belief in arts as a creative force and a universal language of civilisation.
Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Qasir, Director of the Cultural Affairs Department at Sharjah Department of Culture, chaired a meeting with committee members to discuss this year's festival. Al-Qasir highlighted that the festival's international recognition is due to the support from H.H. the Ruler of Sharjah. He emphasised that art serves as a bridge for civilisational dialogue among different cultures worldwide.

The festival aims to highlight Islamic art, which has inspired countless artists globally. Al-Qasir noted that this year's theme, "Siraj," symbolises light and encourages limitless ideas and images. He explained that "Siraj" transcends its literal meaning of lighting, representing an essence that delves into the human soul.
The Higher Committee plans to invite artists from around the globe soon. Participants are expected to present innovative ideas aligning with the "Siraj" theme. The selection process will focus on how well artworks resonate with this concept.
Since its inception in 1998, under His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's guidance, the Islamic Arts Festival has redefined Islamic arts' vision while preserving its historical significance and aesthetic appeal.
