Saudi Arabia Apprehends Over 21,500 Violators Of Residency And Labor Laws In Recent Inspections
The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia conducted a series of inspections from January 23 to January 29. These checks aimed to ensure adherence to residency, labour, and border security laws. The campaigns revealed a total of 21,564 violations across the Kingdom. These included 13,883 breaches of residency laws, 4,668 related to border security, and 3,013 concerning labour regulations.
During the same period, authorities intercepted 1,477 individuals attempting illegal entry into Saudi Arabia. Among these, 41% were identified as Yemenis, 52% as Ethiopians, and the remaining 4% belonged to various other nationalities. Additionally, 90 individuals were apprehended for trying to exit the Kingdom unlawfully.

Currently, procedures are underway for 34,680 expatriates who violated regulations. This group comprises 31,546 men and 3,134 women. Of these violators, 27,227 have been detained and instructed to liaise with their respective embassies or consulates for travel documentation. Furthermore, arrangements are being made for the departure of 2,317 individuals.
The Ministry has also taken action against those aiding violators. Eighteen people were arrested for facilitating illegal activities such as transporting or employing violators. The Ministry has issued a stern warning that anyone involved in such activities could face severe penalties.
The Ministry highlighted that those who assist in illegal entries or provide shelter could face up to 15 years in prison and fines reaching SAR1 million. Vehicles used in these activities may also be confiscated. The Ministry emphasised that these actions are considered major crimes warranting arrest.
To combat these violations effectively, the Ministry encourages the public to report any suspicious activities. Residents in Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions can call 911 for assistance. In other parts of the Kingdom, they should contact either 999 or 996.
In addition to detentions and warnings issued during this period, authorities successfully repatriated a total of 10,295 individuals who had violated residency or labour laws. This reflects ongoing efforts by Saudi authorities to maintain strict compliance with national regulations.
