Saudi Arabia Apprehends Over 21,000 Violators Of Residency And Labor Laws In Recent Inspections

The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia carried out inspection campaigns from October 24 to October 30. These efforts aimed to ensure adherence to residency, labour, and border security laws. During this period, authorities recorded 21,370 violations across the Kingdom. These included 12,274 related to residency, 5,684 concerning border security, and 3,412 involving labour laws.

Among those attempting illegal entry into the Kingdom were 1,492 individuals. Of these, 35% were identified as Yemenis, 61% as Ethiopians, and the remaining 4% belonged to other nationalities. Additionally, authorities apprehended 34 people trying to exit the Kingdom unlawfully.

Over 21,000 Violations Detected in Saudi Inspections

The Ministry has detained a total of 17,543 expatriates for violating various laws. This group comprises 15,317 men and 2,226 women who are currently undergoing procedures for regulation enforcement. Out of these individuals, 10,411 have been instructed to contact their respective embassies or consulates for travel documentation.

Furthermore, arrangements are being made for the departure of 2,439 individuals. Meanwhile, authorities have already repatriated 12,196 violators back to their home countries. The Ministry has also arrested fifteen people involved in transporting, sheltering or employing these violators.

The Ministry has issued a stern warning regarding the facilitation of illegal entry into Saudi Arabia. Those found guilty of such acts face severe penalties including up to 15 years in prison and fines reaching SAR1 million. Vehicles used for transportation or houses used for shelter may also be confiscated.

These actions are classified as major crimes warranting arrest. The Ministry urges citizens to report any violations by calling specific numbers: 911 in Makkah, Riyadh and Eastern regions; and either 999 or 996 in other parts of the Kingdom.
