RTA Reports 20% Increase In Compliance Among Licensing Service Providers In 2024
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) noted a 20% rise in compliance among service providers with laws and regulations in 2024 compared to the previous year. This improvement resulted from extensive inspection and audit operations on licensing activities. The authority conducted approximately 579,000 inspections and audits, marking a significant increase over 2023.
Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of the Licensing Agency at RTA, highlighted the use of advanced data analysis technologies and violation detection tools. "By leveraging advanced data analysis technologies and violation detection tools, these efforts have enhanced inspection accuracy, enabling a more focused approach to activities more likely to incur violations," he stated. This approach has improved inspection accuracy and allowed for a more targeted focus on areas prone to violations.

The number of recorded violations decreased by 3% despite the increased inspections. This decline indicates that RTA's efforts to educate licensed establishments have been effective. Mahboob noted that ongoing initiatives have improved operational efficiency in inspection processes, resulting in more inspections and audits conducted throughout 2024.
RTA's collaboration with relevant authorities has strengthened regulatory coordination, leading to higher compliance levels. Mahboob mentioned that these efforts facilitated the expansion of inspection and awareness campaigns. In total, 30 campaigns were carried out in partnership with nine entities across Dubai.
This initiative has raised awareness across various sectors, enhancing compliance among licensed establishments. The proactive role of RTA in educating businesses about regulations has contributed significantly to this achievement.
Future Development Initiatives
Mahboob concluded that the reduction in violations reflects RTA's commitment to reinforcing compliance with approved regulations. "The decline in violations in 2024 compared to the previous year reflects RTA’s proactive role in educating licenced establishments and reinforcing compliance with regulations, standards, and requirements according to approved regulations," he said.
RTA is currently implementing development initiatives aimed at addressing challenges and further improving operational efficiency as part of its master development plans. These initiatives are expected to continue enhancing compliance levels among service providers across Dubai.
