20 Contracts Worth AED 18.016 Billion Signed During Dubai Airshow 2025 For Defence And Security

The Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement has revealed the signing of eight new contracts during the Dubai Airshow 2025. These agreements, made on behalf of the Ministry of Defence and Abu Dhabi Police, are valued at AED7.972 billion. This brings the total number of contracts signed in the first three days to 20, with a combined value of AED18.016 billion.

Manea Abdulkarim Al Mansoori, a spokesperson for Tawazun, stated that these contracts involve both national and international companies in defence, security, and aviation sectors. He emphasised that these deals will bolster the UAE's defence and security industrial ecosystem. They also support technology transfer, localisation, and industrial growth within the country.

Contracts Signed at Dubai Airshow 2025

Among the local contracts signed for the Ministry of Defence were two agreements with Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL). The first contract is worth AED6.794 billion for aircraft maintenance services. The second contract, valued at AED96.8 million, is for providing specialised manpower for technical support.

Internationally, two contracts were signed with Thales from France. The first agreement is valued at AED53.5 million for air radar maintenance. The second contract involves maintenance services and technical support for aircrafts at a cost of AED177 million.

Additionally, an international deal was made with Leonardo from Italy to supply five helicopters to Abu Dhabi Police. This contract is valued at AED430.2 million.

Local Partnerships

On behalf of Abu Dhabi, two local contracts were signed with Abu Dhabi Aviation. The first contract is worth AED121.5 million to supply and repair helicopter spare parts and their technical equipment. The second agreement involves maintenance, repair, and management of rotary-wing aircraft services valued at AED144.1 million.

An agreement was also made with International Golden Group to provide materials and equipment for pilots and aerial rescue operations as well as spare parts, valued at AED154.5 million.

Diverse Partnerships

Abdulla Ahmed Al Saeedi highlighted that these agreements showcase diverse partnerships led by Tawazun between local and global industry players. He noted that such collaborations aim to enhance the UAE’s defence business environment while encouraging private-sector participation in developing innovative defence solutions.

Al Saeedi further stated that these new contracts represent another step in Tawazun’s efforts to build an advanced national defence ecosystem capable of competing globally. They reflect the UAE’s commitment to developing an integrated industrial sector driven by knowledge and technology in line with its National Defence and Security Industries Strategy.
