Saudi Arabia Apprehends Over 17,000 Violators Of Residency And Labor Laws In Recent Inspections

The Ministry of Interior recently carried out inspection campaigns across Saudi Arabia from April 24 to 30. These efforts aimed to ensure adherence to residency, labour, and border security laws. The inspections revealed a total of 17,153 violations: 10,305 related to residency, 3,644 concerning border security, and 3,204 involving labour laws.

During the same period, authorities intercepted 1,109 individuals attempting illegal entry into the Kingdom. Among them, 35% were Yemenis, 62% Ethiopians, and the remaining 3% belonged to other nationalities. Additionally, 76 people were apprehended for trying to exit the Kingdom unlawfully.

Saudi Arabia Apprehends Over 17,000 Law Violators

In connection with these violations, law enforcement detained 13 individuals for their roles in transporting, sheltering, or employing violators. The Ministry has emphasised that such actions are serious crimes warranting arrest.

A total of 28,706 expatriates are currently undergoing procedures for regulation enforcement. This group includes 27,022 men and 1,684 women. Of these individuals, 20,537 have been detained for legal breaches and instructed to contact their respective embassies or consulates for travel documentation.

Furthermore, arrangements have been made for the departure of some expatriates. Specifically, 2,484 individuals were advised to book their travel plans. Meanwhile, a total of 15,402 people have already been repatriated.

Penalties for Facilitators

The Ministry has issued a stern warning regarding those who facilitate illegal entry into Saudi Arabia. Individuals involved in such activities may face up to 15 years in prison and fines reaching SAR1 million. Additionally, any vehicles or houses used in these activities could be confiscated.

The Ministry urges citizens to report any violations by calling designated numbers: 911 in Makkah, Riyadh and Eastern regions; and either 999 or 996 elsewhere in the Kingdom.
