Saudi Arabia Apprehends Over 13,000 Violators Of Residency And Labor Laws In Recent Inspections
In a recent effort to enforce residency, labour, and border security laws, the Ministry of Interior carried out inspection campaigns across Saudi Arabia from May 15 to 21. These operations resulted in the identification of 13,118 violations. Among these, 8,150 were related to residency, 3,344 pertained to border security, and 1,624 involved breaches of labour laws.
The inspections also revealed attempts by 1,207 individuals to cross into the Kingdom illegally. Of these individuals, 37% were identified as Yemenis, while Ethiopians accounted for 61%, and the remaining 02% were from other nationalities. Additionally, authorities apprehended 94 people attempting to exit the Kingdom unlawfully.

Authorities detained a total of 15,936 individuals for various violations. These individuals have been instructed to contact their respective embassies or consulates to secure necessary travel documents. Meanwhile, arrangements are being made for the departure of 1,359 individuals who have been advised to book their travel.
The Ministry has issued a stern warning regarding those who aid illegal entry into Saudi Arabia. Individuals found guilty of facilitating such activities face severe penalties. These include up to 15 years in prison and fines reaching SAR1 million. Furthermore, vehicles used in these activities may be confiscated.
Currently, procedures are underway for enforcing regulations on 21,872 expatriates. This group includes 20,616 men and 1,256 women. The Ministry is actively working on ensuring compliance with the law among these expatriates.
Reporting Violations
The Ministry emphasised that aiding illegal entry or providing shelter or assistance is considered a major crime warranting arrest. Citizens are encouraged to report any violations by calling designated numbers: 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions; and either 999 or 996 elsewhere in the Kingdom.
In addition to detaining violators within Saudi Arabia's borders, authorities successfully repatriated a total of 11,566 individuals during this period. This action underscores the commitment to maintaining strict adherence to immigration laws.
The Ministry's efforts highlight its dedication to upholding legal standards within the Kingdom. By addressing violations promptly and effectively, it aims to ensure safety and order across all regions.
