Saudi Arabia Apprehends Over 12,000 Violators Of Residency, Labor, And Border Security Laws

The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia recently carried out inspection campaigns from May 22 to 28. These operations aimed to ensure adherence to residency, labour, and border security laws. During this period, authorities documented a total of 12,129 violations across the Kingdom. These included 7,127 breaches of residency regulations, 3,441 related to border security, and 1,561 concerning labour laws.

Among those attempting illegal entry into the Kingdom were 1,197 individuals. Of these, 34% were identified as Yemenis, 63% as Ethiopians, and the remaining 3% belonged to other nationalities. Additionally, authorities detained 90 people trying to exit the country unlawfully.

Saudi Arabia Seizes Over 12,000 Law Violators

The Ministry has taken action against individuals involved in facilitating illegal activities. Eighteen people were arrested for transporting, sheltering, or employing violators. The Ministry warns that such actions can lead to severe penalties. Those found guilty may face up to 15 years in prison and fines reaching SAR1 million. Vehicles used for transport or houses used for shelter could also be confiscated.

Currently, procedures are underway for enforcing regulations on 19,238 expatriates. This group includes 17,930 men and 1,308 women. Authorities have instructed a total of 14,065 individuals who violated laws to contact their embassies or consulates for travel documentation. Meanwhile, 1,533 have been advised to arrange their departure bookings.

A significant number of violators have already been repatriated. Specifically, authorities have sent back a total of 11,094 individuals to their home countries. The Ministry continues its efforts to ensure compliance with the Kingdom's laws through these measures.

The Ministry emphasises that aiding illegal entry into Saudi Arabia is a serious crime warranting arrest. It urges citizens and residents to report any violations by calling designated numbers: 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions; and 999 or 996 elsewhere in the Kingdom.
