Lieutenant-General Fayyad Bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili Opens 10th International Holy Quran Competition For Military Personnel In Makkah

The 10th International Holy Quran Competition for Military Personnel commenced in the Makkah Region, inaugurated by Chief of General Staff Lieutenant-General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili. This event, held under the patronage of Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, is organised by the General Directorate of Religious Affairs of the Armed Forces and features 179 participants from 32 nations.

Maj. Gen. Dr. Mesfer Al-Issa, Director General of the General Administration of Religious Affairs of the Armed Forces and Supervisor General of the competition, delivered a speech highlighting Saudi Arabia's dedication to serving the Holy Quran. He noted that this competition is unique as it brings together military personnel from various countries to compete in memorizing and reciting the Quran beautifully.

Inauguration of Holy Quran Competition for Military Personnel

The competition is divided into six categories: memorization of the entire Quran with proper recitation and Tajweed, memorization of 20 parts with proper recitation and Tajweed, memorization of 10 parts with proper recitation and Tajweed, memorization of five parts with proper recitation and Tajweed, memorization of three parts with proper recitation and Tajweed, and the most beautiful recitation with Tajweed and excellent performance read directly from the Quran.

Dr. Al-Issa emphasized that this event reflects Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to promoting Quranic values among military personnel. He stated that it underscores the Kingdom’s leading role in supporting those who memorize the Quran. The competition not only fosters a sense of unity among participants but also highlights Saudi Arabia's dedication to spreading Islamic values globally.

The event showcases Saudi Arabia’s efforts under its wise leadership to promote Quranic teachings. It serves as a platform for military personnel worldwide to engage in spiritual enrichment through Quranic memorization and recitation.
