TikTok And 1 Billion Followers Summit Introduce Global Educator Award With $100,000 Prize

The 1 Billion Followers Summit, in collaboration with TikTok, has unveiled the first-ever global Educator Award. This initiative celebrates creators who are transforming online learning. From 24th November to 21st December 2025, creators from MENA, Africa, the UK, and the USA can participate in the #EducatorAward competition. They will showcase educational content that inspires communities and creates a real-world impact.

The award is part of the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit. Organised by the UAE Government Media Office, this event is dedicated to the content creator economy. It will be held in Dubai from 9th to 11th January 2026 at Emirates Towers and Museum of the Future under 'Content for Good' theme. The summit aims to empower creators worldwide.

TikTok Launches Global Educator Award Competition

TikTok invites creators globally to share educational and entertaining content that sparks curiosity and makes learning accessible. From history lessons to life-skills hacks, STEM experiments to entrepreneurship tips, TikTok empowers creators to turn knowledge into inspiration.

Khadija Hussain, Executive Director of Government Communication at the UAE Government Media Office and deputy CEO of the summit, highlighted the importance of partnerships with digital media platforms like TikTok. "The 1 Billion Followers Summit continues to forge strong partnerships with leading global digital media platforms," she said.

Hussain emphasised that meaningful educational content is crucial for positive change and community development. She added that this award motivates creators worldwide to share knowledge and produce impactful content. Such efforts reinforce UAE's position as a hub for innovative educational content.

Recognising Creativity and Learning

Kinda Ibrahim, Regional General Manager of Operations at TikTok Middle East, Africa, South and Central Asia, expressed excitement about partnering with the summit. "We are excited to partner with the 1 Billion Followers Summit to launch the Educator Award," she stated.

TikTok continues evolving as a platform where learning is personal and impactful. Creators can participate by submitting entries between 24th November and 21st December 2025 using relevant hashtags: #EducatorAward for MENA & Sub-Saharan Africa; #EducatorAward and #LearnOnTikTokContest for US; #EducatorAward for UK.

Three finalists will be invited to Dubai by the summit organisers for a fully hosted experience during which they will enjoy various activities. The winner will be announced at the summit and awarded US$100,000 for their contribution to global learning.

Encouraging Diverse Educational Content

Creators are encouraged to explore five themes reflecting our global community's diversity: Humanities, Personal Development, School Education, Science & Innovation, Business & Finance. This initiative builds on TikTok’s success with #LearnOnTikTok by celebrating those who transform complex ideas into relatable lessons.

The Educator Award marks a new chapter in TikTok's commitment to making learning more accessible and engaging. Through this partnership with the summit, TikTok highlights innovation and knowledge sharing on a global stage.

There are many ways to bring learning alive on TikTok—whether it's a history story told in seconds or an entrepreneurship insight that sparks new ideas. The Educator Award encourages creators worldwide to channel their passion into innovative content that enriches education ecosystems.

This collaboration underscores how creativity and learning go hand-in-hand while recognising incredible creators who turn everyday moments into education opportunities connecting communities globally through shared knowledge experiences.
