1 Billion Followers Summit Unveils Judges And Mentors For Creators Ventures Accelerator Programme

The 1 Billion Followers Summit, organised by the UAE Government Media Office, is a major event focused on the content creator economy. It has revealed the judging panel for the Creators Ventures Accelerator. This programme, part of Creators Ventures' second edition, is organised by Creators HQ in collaboration with 500 Global, a leading venture capital firm.

The Summit also introduced a team of mentors who will guide participants in acquiring essential skills and support to grow their ventures sustainably. The aim is to empower them to build industry-leading companies. A shortlist of 21 content creators and startup founders was announced, boasting over 20 million followers collectively.

The Creators Ventures Accelerator aims to identify promising creator-led startups. These ventures will be showcased during the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit from 9th to 11th January 2026 at Emirates Towers, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and the Museum of the Future. The theme for this event is "Content for Good."

Selected pitches will receive investment opportunities and funding up to AED 50 million from industry investors. The judging panel includes experts like Jonathan Labin, Megan Lightcap, and Scott Van Den Berg. They bring extensive experience in investment and content creation.

The programme's resident mentors include Sora Lee, Giacomo Poggiali, Jonathan Tanemori, and Brian Lee. These mentors have vast experience in marketing, product development, venture capitalism, and scaling creator-led businesses. They will provide guidance on growth strategies and investor engagement.

Participants will undergo an intensive 10-week training programme combining 500 Global’s expertise with its ecosystem network dedicated to supporting the creator economy. This initiative aims to equip participants with skills and tools for sustainable business growth.

Selection Process and Criteria

The Creators Ventures Accelerator received significant interest from content creators and startups worldwide. Out of 1,131 applications, 609 met all criteria for participation. These included submissions from over 70 countries comprising both content creators and startups.

Eligible submissions were evaluated based on innovation, creativity, economic impact, execution quality, marketing potential, business planning, profitability, scalability, and investment attractiveness by a panel of venture capitalists and digital media experts.

Notable Startups on the Shortlist

The shortlist features notable startups such as Angel Santana's dromOS platform that turns creators' challenges into monetisable game experiences; Esraa Saleh's Super Abla platform linking kids' language to culture; Omar Farooq's Noqta.tv offering courses taught by influencers; SHAIKE by Jeremy Angelier merging cinema with AI; and Abdullah Alowais's MyRefera connecting brands with creators through AI-driven campaigns.
