Netflix's Reveals 'Squid Game' Season 2 Dates. Are You Ready To Play Again?

It's here! After three years, world's most popular 'game' series, "Squid Game" Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix on December 26. The streaming giant also confirmed that the series will conclude with a third season in 2025. This announcement was made through a video, which can be viewed below. It currently ranks as the most-watched season of television in the company’s history.

The official description for Season 2 states: “Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 remains determined to find the people behind the game and put an end to their vicious sport. Using this fortune to fund his search, Gi-hun starts with the most obvious of places: look for the man in a sharp suit playing ddakji in the subway. But when his efforts finally yield results, the path toward taking down the organization proves to be deadlier than he imagined: to end the game, he needs to re-enter it.”

Returning and New Cast Members

Lee Jung-jae will reprise his role alongside returning cast members Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. The new season will also introduce several new actors including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.

The first season of "Squid Game" holds the record as Netflix's most-watched television season ever. It garnered 14 Emmy nominations and won six awards. These included best director for a drama series for Hwang Dong-hyuk and best actor in a drama series for Lee Jung-jae. Additionally, Lee You-mi won best guest actress in a drama series.

Kim Ji-yeon also serves as an executive producer on "Squid Game," working alongside Hwang. Firstman Studio produces the series for Netflix.
