Investment Surge: 'Shark Tank Dubai 2' Secures Dh17 Million in Early Showings

Since its inception, Shark Tank Dubai has been a beacon for entrepreneurs seeking to elevate their ventures. In the second season, the program, broadcast on Dubai TV and part of Dubai Media Incorporated, has continued its legacy of fostering economic growth and providing unparalleled opportunities for start-ups to flourish.

Its alignment with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) underscores its commitment to positioning Dubai among the top three economic cities globally. Through its support, the program has catalyzed the ambitions of numerous entrepreneurs, enabling them to scale their businesses and achieve remarkable success.

Shark Tank Dubai 2 Invests AED 17 Million

The initiative has facilitated investments in 15 distinctive projects, highlighting its role as a dynamic platform for nurturing small and medium-sized enterprises. The first seven episodes of the current season alone saw an impressive total investment of Dh17.25 million showcasing the program's significant impact.

Among these, the Chill App project by Emirati entrepreneur Majid Abdul Latif Al Hashemi stood out, securing an investment of Dh3.5 million for its innovative car service application. Furthermore, Iraqi entrepreneur Issam Al Dulaimi's smart traffic cone project, which received a patent for its unique traffic control solution, attracted a Dh3 million investment.

British entrepreneur Shona Hind's journey to Dubai culminated in the successful launch of Free Me Company, producing a chemical-free mosquito repellent. Her participation in Shark Tank Dubai resulted in a Dh1.6 million funding boost, enabling her dream of entrepreneurship to flourish in her new home. Similarly, the Esaal platform, co-founded by Emirati entrepreneur Anas Mohammed and Reem Musabah, garnered attention for its comprehensive electronic invoicing and customer communication solutions, securing a Dh1.5 million investment.

Yasir Akram and Mashal Chaudhry, a Pakistani couple, introduced DRNK, their eco-friendly water bottle company, to the investors. Their commitment to sustainability and unique design earned them a Dh1 million investment, primarily aimed at marketing their innovative product. The program also spotlighted Nada Haddad's One of a Kin, a cotton clothing venture, and Shang Mangyi and Shen Li's Ugly Noodles company, both of which received significant funding to enhance their businesses and market reach.

Additionally, several entrepreneurs managed to capture the investors' interest, including Nazbari Azari of Tapinaz, who received Dh800,000 for her spreadable food products. The Thiqah Tutoring project, a unique educational initiative by Emirati Hamdan Karmustaji and partners Omar and Ali Bakri, secured 600 thousand dirhams, demonstrating the program's diverse investment scope. Mona Rahim's Crackles brand also succeeded in drawing investment, highlighting her unique approach to catering to sweets enthusiasts with a Dh600,000 funding.

The investor committee, comprising influential figures like Elie Khoury, Faisal bin Juma Belhoul, Ameera Sajwani, and Mohammed Ballout, among others, played a pivotal role in evaluating and investing in the presented projects. Their expertise and commitment have been instrumental in driving the program's success and, by extension, contributing to Dubai's economic development.

Over 65 entrepreneurs from various backgrounds have showcased their projects on Shark Tank Dubai, seeking funding and support to realize their business aspirations. The program not only highlights Dubai's position as a vibrant investment destination but also promotes its innovative and competitive business environment on a global scale.
