K-Pop Icon CL To Headline Dubai's Waterbomb Festival With Hip-Hop Stars

South Korean rappers CL, pH-1, and Big Naughty are set to perform at Dubai's inaugural Waterbomb Festival, bringing a splash of K-pop and hip-hop to the desert city. Scheduled for June 7 and 8 at Dubai Festival City, the festival promises an exciting lineup that includes some of the biggest names in EDM, hip-hop, and K-pop, with more announcements on the horizon.

CL, born Lee Chae-rin, gained international acclaim as the leader of the iconic girl group 2NE1, which debuted in 2009. Known for their significant impact on the K-pop scene, 2NE1 has been recognized as one of the most influential girl groups in the genre's history. Embarking on a solo career, CL released hits like "The Baddest Female" in 2013 and "MTBD" in 2014, part of 2NE1's last studio album, "Crush". Her solo success includes making history as the first South Korean female artist to break into the Billboard Hot 100 with her track "Lifted" in 2016. CL's influence extends beyond music, as evidenced by her inclusion in Time's list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World in both 2015 and 2016.

pH-1, or Harry Park, has made a name for himself in the South Korean music industry as a rapper, singer, and songwriter. His rise to fame was bolstered by his participation in the hip-hop competition show "Show Me the Money", leading to a series of successful solo albums and singles that showcase his artistic range.

Big Naughty, whose real name is Seo Dong-hyun, emerged on the scene through his memorable performance on the "High School Rapper 3" reality TV competition in 2019. Known for his distinctive rap style and stage presence, he secured the runner-up position, cementing his status as a rising star in South Korean hip-hop.

Originating from South Korea, the Waterbomb Festival is celebrated annually as a unique combination of music performances and water-based activities. Designed as a respite from the summer heat, participants engage in water fights with guns, balloons, and other props, all while enjoying live music from popular K-pop artists and DJs. This festive atmosphere, coupled with the excitement of live performances, makes the Waterbomb Festival a standout event in the global music festival scene.

As Dubai prepares to host its version of this lively event, the inclusion of celebrated artists like CL, pH-1, and Big Naughty is set to offer an unforgettable experience for fans of K-pop, hip-hop, and EDM in the UAE. With its blend of music, water sports, and festival culture, the Waterbomb Festival in Dubai is poised to make a significant splash this summer.
