New Financing Firm Launches In Abu Dhabi To Boost Local Film & TV Productions

Abu Dhabi has made a significant stride in bolstering its film and television production sector through the establishment of Sherborne Media FZ LLC. This move, heralded by the Creative Media Authority (CMA), marks a pivotal development in providing comprehensive financial solutions for content creators in the region.

With the introduction of Sherborne Media, Abu Dhabi now hosts the first institution registered with CMA to offer specialised financial support and advisory services for film production. This initiative is set to revolutionise the creative industry in Abu Dhabi by facilitating a full cycle of funding for film and TV projects.

Sherborne Media's arrival in Abu Dhabi signifies a major advancement in the emirate's ambition to become a leading hub for film and television production. Starting from January 1, 2025, the rebate for qualified productions will increase from 35% to as much as 50%, making Abu Dhabi an even more attractive destination for filmmakers.

Sherborne Media, a leading partner in global film financing, is poised to play a crucial role in this ecosystem by providing financial backing and advisory services to production companies both locally and internationally. This collaboration aims to enhance the availability of film financing options and ensure a seamless financial cycle for productions in Abu Dhabi.
