Wales Announces Departure Of Manager Rob Page Post Euro 2024 Qualifier Disappointment
Wales have dismissed manager Rob Page following the country's failure to qualify for Euro 2024. The 49-year-old initially took on the role on an interim basis in November 2020, succeeding Ryan Giggs. He was appointed permanently in September 2022.
Page managed 45 games for the national team, securing victories in 15 of those matches. Under his leadership, Wales reached the round of 16 at Euro 2020 and qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 64 years, although they exited in the group stage after earning only one point.

Wales narrowly missed out on qualifying for a third consecutive European Championship, losing on penalties to Poland in their play-off final in March. Despite receiving support from the Football Association of Wales (FAW) following that result, Page faced heavy criticism after a goalless draw with Gibraltar and a 4-0 defeat by Slovakia in June friendlies, leading to his contract termination.
