'No One Is Invincible': Vlahovic Eyes Victory In Euro 2024 Opener Against England
Dusan Vlahovic believes Serbia can draw confidence from England's recent 1-0 defeat to Iceland as they prepare for their Euro 2024 opener in Gelsenkirchen. England ended their tournament preparations with a lacklustre performance at Wembley, where Jon Dagur Thorsteinsson's early goal made the difference.
Vlahovic, who netted 16 goals for Juventus in Serie A, is optimistic about continuing his goal-scoring form in Germany for Serbia's first European Championship as an independent nation. The 24-year-old is set to participate in his second major tournament for his country, having been part of the squad that exited early from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Vlahovic is confident that Serbia can challenge Gareth Southgate's side, who are among the favourites to win the competition. "No one is invincible," Vlahovic stated ahead of Sunday's match. "We analysed the game against Iceland and found aspects we can emulate, as they managed to defeat England at Wembley in front of 80,000 people. Everything is possible."
He added, "England are the favourites, perhaps the biggest in the tournament, but we believe in ourselves and are taking it step by step to present ourselves in the best light. This approach allows us to have a calmer environment and prepare more serenely for the upcoming matches."
After their clash with England, Serbia will travel to Munich to face Slovenia before concluding their group stage campaign against Denmark.
