Man Utd's Ten Hag Certain Of Rashford's Comeback After Tough Season

Erik ten Hag is confident that Marcus Rashford will regain his form for Manchester United after a challenging 2023-24 season. Rashford managed seven goals in 33 matches last season, a drop from the 17 goals he scored in the 2022-23 campaign when United finished third in the Premier League. His dip in performance led to his exclusion from England's Euro 2024 squad and disciplinary action from his club for missing training to attend a nightclub in Belfast in January.

Ten Hag believes that the return of former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy to Old Trafford as a coach can significantly benefit Rashford. "The reason Ruud is here is clear, he can help the strikers, but he is much more than this. With Rashford, he can only prove himself," Ten Hag stated. He added that Rashford has already demonstrated his scoring ability at a young age and expressed full confidence in his potential to replicate past performances.

Rashford's Expected Man Utd Revival

Mason Mount also faced difficulties during his initial season at Manchester United after transferring from Chelsea. He made only 14 appearances in the Premier League, starting five times, scoring once, and failing to register an assist. Ten Hag defended Mount's performance, attributing it to injuries and expressing optimism about his future contributions.

Manchester United's pre-season tour of the United States includes matches against Arsenal on Saturday, followed by games against Real Betis and Liverpool. They will then face Manchester City in the Community Shield on August 10.

Ten Hag emphasised Mount's versatility and importance to the team, saying, "You can't judge his season because he was injured. Don't judge him. But when he is fit he will be a very good player for us and we can use him; he is versatile." He highlighted Mount's ability to play multiple positions as crucial for the squad.

Rashford's previous success and potential are clear indicators of what he can achieve with proper guidance and support. Ten Hag remains optimistic about both Rashford and Mount making significant impacts in the upcoming season.

The upcoming fixtures will provide opportunities for both players to demonstrate their abilities and regain their form ahead of the new season.
