Spain's Triumph Over France Brings Them On The Brink Of Euro 2024 Glory

Dani Olmo praised Spain's resilience after his goal against France brought La Roja closer to Euro 2024 triumph. Didier Deschamps' team took an early lead through Randal Kolo Muani in Tuesday's semi-final, but Lamine Yamal soon equalised before Olmo scored four minutes later.

Olmo became the first Spanish player to score in three consecutive European Championship finals matches. His five goal contributions at Euro 2024 (three goals, two assists) are the highest by a Spaniard in a major tournament since David Silva at Euro 2012 (two goals, three assists). His first-half goal secured Spain's 2-1 win, setting up Sunday's final against either the Netherlands or England.

Spain Close to Euro 2024 Win

Yamal, aged 16 years and 362 days, broke Pele's record as the youngest scorer at a major tournament. Pele had scored against Wales at 17 years and 239 days during the 1958 World Cup. Barcelona's young star bypassed Adrien Rabiot and curled into the top-left corner, equalising just 13 minutes after Kolo Muani's header past Unai Simon.

"We planned the game very well and, although we conceded a goal, we knew how to react with the spectacular goal from Lamine and then with my own," Olmo said. "And in the second half we knew how to control it." Spain will now prepare for their fifth Euros final, with only Germany having played more (six), as they aim for their fourth title in this tournament.

Nacho, who will move to Saudi Arabia after leaving Real Madrid last season, expressed his excitement about playing in the final. "Playing in this final is something magical, a dream," Nacho told Mundo Deportivo. "Winning the Euros would be the icing on the cake for a spectacular career."

Team Dynamics and Future Prospects

"It's going to be an incredible final," Nacho added. "It's a team with a lot of character; I always say that the mix of veterans and youngsters makes us very strong. We grow in the face of adversity; we push forward with the strength of the group."

Olmo hopes to make further history in Sunday's showpiece against either the Netherlands or England. "We are very close now, one step away from glory," Olmo told reporters shortly after full-time at Allianz Arena.

Spain's journey to their fifth Euros final highlights their tactical prowess and team spirit. With players like Olmo and Yamal making significant contributions, La Roja aims to secure their fourth European Championship crown.

The upcoming final promises excitement as Spain faces either England or the Netherlands. Fans eagerly await whether Spain can add another title to their illustrious history in European football.
