Spain Sets Sights On Making History In Euro 2024 Final Against England
Spain's head coach, Luis de la Fuente, expressed his desire for the team to make history in the Euro 2024 final against England on Sunday. By winning at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Spain could become the most successful nation in European Championship history with a fourth title.
Throughout the tournament, Spain has been dominant, securing victories in all six matches and scoring 13 goals while conceding only three. De la Fuente aims to complete a treble of European Championship wins, having previously triumphed at under-19 and under-21 levels.

The 63-year-old coach praised his players ahead of the final. "We expect a complicated match because we are two great teams, the best [of the Euros]," he said during a pre-match press conference. "We are in a great moment, but I believe this will be a very balanced match."
De la Fuente highlighted the experience within his squad. "Many of our players have experience in these types of games," he noted. "We are approaching the final with peace of mind and pride." He emphasised that reaching the final is a significant achievement and that the team is eager to play.
The coach also spoke about the players' dedication. "I see the player's faces, their spirit," he said. "These players have given everything for us. It's a brilliant generation; many have come through successful youth levels, which usually bodes well for success."
Support from Fans
The enthusiasm surrounding the team has been remarkable. "The enthusiasm that this team has generated is not something to be taken for granted," De la Fuente stated. "They have earned this and worked for it." He added that seeing national support behind the team is wonderful.
De la Fuente remains optimistic about Spain's future in football. "We want to start to make history - and we have made history already in the run to [the final]," he said. "I trust in a great future. There's both present and future."
The anticipation for Sunday's match is high as Spain aims to cement its place in European football history.
