Salah Pledges Future To Liverpool And Honours Klopp's Legacy

Mohamed Salah has indicated he will remain with Liverpool next season, while also paying tribute to outgoing manager Jurgen Klopp. Klopp's nine-year tenure at Liverpool concluded with a 2-0 victory over Wolves on Sunday, securing third place in the Premier League. Arne Slot was confirmed as Klopp's successor on Monday, raising questions about Salah's future under the new management.

Salah's performance notably declined in the latter half of the season, and a public disagreement with Klopp last month fuelled speculation about his departure. However, Salah appeared to dismiss these rumours, pledging to lead Liverpool to more trophies next season. "We know that trophies are what count and we will do everything possible to make that happen next season," Salah wrote in a post on X. "Our fans deserve it and we will fight like hell."

In another post featuring an image of himself with Klopp, Salah expressed his gratitude: "It was great sharing all those trophies and experiences with you over the past seven years. I wish you the best of luck for the future and hope we meet again."

Salah scored 18 Premier League goals in the 2023-24 season, marking his least prolific campaign during his seven years at Anfield. Fourteen of these goals were scored before he participated in the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt in January, where he sustained a hamstring injury that affected his performance for the rest of the season.

Sunday's win against Wolves was also significant for Salah as it marked his 250th Premier League appearance for Liverpool. His overall tally of 223 Premier League goal involvements for Liverpool (155 goals, 68 assists) is the second-highest by any player in their first 250 appearances for a club in the competition, trailing only Thierry Henry's 243 for Arsenal (171 goals, 72 assists).
