SAFF Reveals 2024-2025 Women's First Division League Fixtures And Prize Money
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) Competitions Committee has unveiled the fixtures for the 2024-2025 Women's First Division League. This season will adopt a full-fledged home and away format, moving away from the previous region-based structure.
This year's league will feature ten teams: Al Riyadh, Abha, Al Angaa, Al Hamma, Jeddah, NEOM, Al Shoulla, United Eagles, Albayraq, and Al Wehda. The competition will consist of 90 matches spread across 18 rounds.
SAFF has updated the prize money for this season. The champion team will receive a cash prize of 750,000 Saudi Riyals. The second-place team will be awarded 500,000 Saudi Riyals, while the third-place team will get 350,000 Saudi Riyals.
In the previous season, AlUla emerged as the champions and earned promotion to the Women's Premier League for the 2024-2025 sports season. Additionally, Al Taraji and Al Amal secured second and third positions respectively to advance to the tournament.
The shift to a home and away format is expected to enhance competition by allowing teams to play in familiar environments as well as challenging away games. This change aims to provide a more balanced and competitive league structure.
The inclusion of ten teams ensures a diverse range of matches and opportunities for players to showcase their skills on a larger stage. Fans can look forward to an exciting season with numerous matchups throughout the league's duration.
The revised prize money structure reflects SAFF's commitment to promoting women's football in Saudi Arabia by providing substantial financial incentives for top-performing teams. This move is likely to encourage higher levels of performance and competitiveness among participating teams.
