Rangers Awaiting Specialist's Report On Oscar Cortes’ Muscle Injury
Philippe Clement, the manager of Rangers, has disclosed that the club is currently consulting with a medical specialist regarding the muscle injury of winger Oscar Cortes. The 20-year-old Colombian international, who recently joined the team on loan from Lens, has made an immediate impact but now faces an uncertain period on the sidelines due to this setback.
Cortes, who celebrated his first goal for Rangers in a resounding 5-0 victory over Hearts at Ibrox, was forced to exit the pitch in a subsequent 2-1 win against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. This victory ensured Rangers maintained their lead, two points ahead of Celtic, atop the cinch Premiership standings. However, the joy was somewhat dampened by Cortes' injury.

While addressing the situation, Clement expressed uncertainty about the duration of Cortes' absence from the field. "Oscar will be out; I don't know how long. We are looking into that with the doctor and specialist. It is a muscle injury, but I cannot say much more at the moment," he stated.
The Belgian manager also emphasized his focus on the available squad members for the upcoming home game against Motherwell on Saturday. Despite acknowledging Cortes' absence as a significant loss for the team, Clement highlighted it as an opportunity for other players to step up and prove their worth.
In more positive news for Rangers fans, Clement confirmed that striker Kemar Roofe and midfielder Ryan Jack are set to return to the squad for the Motherwell clash. Their comeback could provide a timely boost for the team as they continue their pursuit of domestic glory.
The situation with Cortes underscores the unpredictable nature of sports injuries and their potential impact on team dynamics and strategies. As Rangers navigate through these challenges, they will be hoping for a swift and successful recovery for Cortes while relying on their depth and resilience to maintain their competitive edge in the Premiership.
