Poland Coach Positive On Lewandowski's Injury Before Euro 2024
Michal Probierz remains optimistic regarding the injury sustained by Robert Lewandowski during Poland's final Euro 2024 warm-up match. Lewandowski exited the game after just over 30 minutes due to an apparent thigh issue. The friendly match, held on Monday, saw Poland secure a 2-1 victory over Turkiye.
Probierz had already witnessed another setback when striker Karol Swiderski left the field with an ankle injury, which he sustained while celebrating his 12th-minute goal. Baris Alper Yilmaz equalised for Turkiye in the 77th minute, but Nicola Zalewski clinched the win for Poland with a last-minute strike.

The injuries to Lewandowski and Swiderski were the primary concerns following the match. Head coach Probierz provided an update to reporters, stating, "Karol has sprained his ankle. Only after the tests will we know what the situation looks like. Robert has a slight injury but there should be no problem. There will certainly be no changes made [to the squad]."
Lewandowski holds the record for most appearances (150) and goals (82) for Poland. His potential absence could be a significant blow to the team as they prepare for Euro 2024.
Poland has already faced challenges in their build-up to Euro 2024. Juventus' Arkadiusz Milik injured his knee against Ukraine last week, adding to Probierz's concerns about his attacking options.
Upcoming Matches
Poland's Euro 2024 campaign begins against the Netherlands on Sunday. They will then face Austria and France in Group D. The team hopes that both Lewandowski and Swiderski will recover in time to contribute to their efforts in the tournament.
