Patrick Vieira Departs Strasbourg After Just One Season

Strasbourg have confirmed that head coach Patrick Vieira has left the club by mutual agreement. Vieira, who took charge of the Ligue 1 team for just one season, had signed a three-year contract at Stade de la Meinau in July last year.

The 2023-24 season was a period of transition for Strasbourg, finishing 13th in the French top division. Vieira introduced several younger players into the squad during his tenure. The club is now looking for a new manager to replace the former New York City, Nice, and Crystal Palace boss.

Vieira Exits Strasbourg

Strasbourg will kick off their 2024-25 season against Montpellier on August 18. The club aims to build on the foundation laid during Vieira's time and is actively seeking a successor to lead them forward.

Club president Marc Keller expressed his gratitude towards Vieira, stating on the club's official website: "We would like to express our gratitude and thank Patrick for the work he has accomplished during this first phase of the project, and we wish him much success in the future."

The official statement from Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace read: "Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace and Patrick Vieira have ended their collaboration by mutual agreement." The announcement was also shared on social media platforms.

Keller added that Vieira will always be welcome at the club, highlighting the positive relationship between both parties despite the early termination of his contract.
