Napoli Clashes With Kvaratskhelia's Agent Over Exit Rumours
Napoli have firmly stated that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is not available for transfer, following claims from his agent, Mamuka Jugeli, suggesting the player is looking to leave. The Georgian international is currently preparing for his country's Euro 2024 opener against Turkiye on Tuesday. Kvaratskhelia has been linked with potential moves to Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona during the current transfer window.
Kvaratskhelia scored 11 goals in the league during the 2023-24 season, although Napoli finished 10th, a disappointing outcome after winning their third Serie A title the previous year. Jugeli told Sport Imedi last week, "We want to leave Napoli, but now we're all waiting for the Euro 2024." He added that with Antonio Conte at the helm, Napoli have significant plans and he believes they will qualify for the Champions League and compete for the Scudetto next season.

However, Jugeli also mentioned that this does not necessarily mean Kvaratskhelia wants to stay at Napoli. "I didn't talk with Khvicha about this issue; the most important thing for him is the national team. Our goal is a team that plays in the Champions League. The worst thing is that if he stays here, Khvicha will lose one year because of that we are worried," Jugeli stated.
In response to these comments, Napoli issued a statement emphasizing that Kvaratskhelia has three years remaining on his contract at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. The club's statement read: "In reference to the statements of Kvaratskhelia's agent, Mamuka Jugeli, and his father Badri, Calcio Napoli reiterates that the player has a contract for another three years with the club. Kvaratskhelia is not on the market. It is not the agents or fathers who decide the future of a player under contract with Napoli but the club."
This firm stance from Napoli aims to quell any speculation about Kvaratskhelia's future and underscores their intention to retain him as part of their squad moving forward. The club's clear message indicates they are not entertaining offers for the player despite external interest.
As Kvaratskhelia focuses on his national duties with Georgia in Euro 2024, his club situation remains a topic of interest among football fans and analysts. Whether or not there will be further developments in this transfer saga remains to be seen.
