'Your Dreams Are Now My Dreams' – Mourinho's Vow To Fenerbahce Fans

Jose Mourinho has pledged to align his ambitions with those of Fenerbahce supporters following his appointment as the club's new head coach. The 61-year-old Portuguese manager returns to the dugout five months after parting ways with Roma, having reportedly signed a two-year contract with the Istanbul-based team.

The announcement of Mourinho's arrival came shortly after Ismail Kartal's departure from the club on Friday. The two-time Champions League winner is believed to have verbally agreed to take over on the same day. This marks Turkey as the fifth country in which Mourinho has managed, adding to his previous tenures at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho's Promise to Fenerbahce

Mourinho aims to lead Fenerbahce to their first Turkish Super Lig title in a decade. "Your dreams are now my dreams," he declared to thousands of fans gathered at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium. The club shared a video of his statement on social media, further igniting excitement among supporters.

"I want to thank you for your love, the love that I felt from the first moment my name was connected with Fenerbahce," Mourinho said. "Normally, a coach is loved after victories. In this case, I feel that I am loved before victories. That, for me, is a big responsibility that I feel."

Mourinho expressed his dedication to the club and its fans. "I promise you that from this moment, I belong to your family. This shirt is my skin," he stated. "Football is a passion and there is no better place to feel that passion."

He also highlighted his discussions with club president Ali Koc as a pivotal moment in his decision to join Fenerbahce. "Since the moment I met with Ali Koc, I wanted to play for you because, in the end, you are the soul of the football club," Mourinho explained.

Focus on Turkish Football

While Mourinho acknowledged his desire to contribute to Turkish football and the league's development, he emphasized that his primary focus is on Fenerbahce. "I want to work for Turkish football, I want to work for the Turkish league," he said. "But the most important thing for me is not Turkish football; it's not the Turkish league; it's Fenerbahce."

In closing, Mourinho reiterated his commitment: "From the moment I signed my contract, your dreams are now my dreams."
