Milan's Season Finale Ends In Thrilling 3-3 Draw With Salernitana
Milan concluded their Serie A season with a 3-3 draw against Salernitana at San Siro on Saturday. This match marked the final appearances for coach Stefano Pioli and striker Olivier Giroud at the club. Davide Calabria's goal in the 77th minute seemed to secure a win for Milan, putting them 3-1 ahead.
Rafael Leao opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, capitalising on a mistake by Salernitana goalkeeper Vincenzo Fiorillo. Giroud doubled Milan's lead five minutes later, volleying home from an Alessandro Florenzi corner. This goal was a fitting farewell for Giroud, who is set to join MLS club Los Angeles FC.

Salernitana's forward Simy pulled one back in the second half, but Calabria restored Milan's two-goal cushion. However, Junior Sambia and Simy scored late goals to level the match, denying Milan a victory in their final game of the season.

Giroud ended the Serie A season with 23 goal involvements (15 goals and eight assists). This is his third-best tally in a single season in Europe's top five leagues, following 24 in 2013-14 with Arsenal and 30 in 2011-12 with Montpellier. At 37, he is the oldest player with at least 23 goal involvements in these leagues this season.
Christian Pulisic also made his mark, providing an assist to become only the second Milan midfielder to be involved in over 20 goals (12 goals and eight assists) in a single Serie A season. The last player to achieve this was Kaka, who managed it three times between 2005 and 2009.
