Manchester United Continues Boardroom Shakeup With Two Key Departures
Manchester United have announced significant changes to their executive team as part of the ongoing restructuring under new partial owner Jim Ratcliffe. The club confirmed on their official website that Patrick Stewart, the interim chief executive, and Cliff Baty, the chief financial officer, are set to leave Old Trafford at the end of the current season. This move marks a continued effort to reshape the club's management following Ratcliffe's acquisition of a 27.7% stake.
Stewart, who stepped into his role earlier this year replacing Richard Arnold, will see Jean-Claude Blanc, a familiar face to Ratcliffe through INEOS Sport, stepping in temporarily until Omar Berrada takes over in July. Meanwhile, Roger Bell, also linked with INEOS, will succeed Baty as CFO. These changes come amidst a broader shakeup within the club's hierarchy aimed at steering Manchester United into a new era.

Ratcliffe expressed his gratitude towards both Stewart and Baty for their contributions during this transitional period. "I would like to personally thank both Patrick and Cliff for their support in helping us get to know the club and making us feel welcome," he stated, acknowledging their role in integrating the new management team.
Joel Glazer, executive co-chairman of Manchester United, also extended his thanks to the departing executives for their years of service and advice, highlighting Stewart's significant role as interim CEO during these pivotal times.
The departure of Stewart and Baty is part of a broader overhaul within Manchester United's management structure. The club has seen other notable changes, including John Murtough stepping down as football director after over a decade, with Dan Ashworth set to replace him. Additionally, Jason Wilcox has been appointed as technical director.
These executive shifts occur as Manchester United finds itself in sixth place in the Premier League with only four games left in the season. The future of manager Erik ten Hag under Ratcliffe's regime is a subject of speculation among fans and pundits alike.
The restructuring efforts by Ratcliffe aim to solidify Manchester United's position both on and off the field. As the club navigates through these changes, supporters are keenly watching how these moves will impact its performance and management in the coming seasons.
