Manchester City Secures Historic Fourth Consecutive Premier League Title

Erling Haaland had no doubts about Manchester City clinching the Premier League title after their victory against Tottenham on Tuesday. This expectation was realised with a win over West Ham five days later. Phil Foden scored twice early on, and Rodri's second-half goal secured a fourth consecutive top-flight crown with a 3-1 victory over David Moyes' team at Etihad Stadium.

City made history by becoming the first team in English top-flight football to win the title in four consecutive seasons, achieving this feat in the 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 campaigns. Haaland's confidence was evident after scoring twice in the midweek 2-0 victory over Spurs, believing City would surpass Arsenal to claim the title.

Man City Wins 4th Straight Title

"After we beat Spurs, we kind of knew we were going to do it," Haaland told Sky Sports. "I was confident." City have now gone 35 matches unbeaten across all competitions (W29 D6), marking the longest run ever by a Premier League team. Pep Guardiola's squad continues to dominate as they did last season when they narrowly edged past Arsenal for the top-flight crown.

"It's like that every year," Haaland said about City's tendency to excel during the decisive part of the season. "It's like we add on a little bit extra because that's when it really matters. I'm happy and I can't complain."

Haaland finished the season with 27 goals from 31 appearances, securing his second consecutive Golden Boot award in the Premier League. He outscored Chelsea's attacking midfielder Cole Palmer by five goals. Reflecting on his achievement, Haaland said, "It's not bad. There's not much to say; it's better to just play football and not speak too much. Let other people do the speaking."

Haaland acknowledged the challenges of playing in the Premier League, noting that every game is intense and tough. "Every game is not like a final, but it's not far away. You come away somewhere or even at home you can't relax," he added.

Regarding his experience working under Guardiola, Haaland expressed gratitude for partnering with the Spaniard. Guardiola's six English top-flight titles are matched only by Alex Ferguson (13), George Ramsay, and Bob Paisley (both six). "It's a bit demanding at times; it's tough but look what he's done," Haaland said of City's manager. "He demands a lot every single day. If you don't live up to what he expects, you have a big problem. He's demanding and he's a lovely guy and I love him to pieces."
